Medicare

Medicare is a benefit that pays health care costs for eligible persons age 65 or over. Medicare Part A provides hospitalization coverage, subject to deductibles and coinsurance. Medicare Part B refers to coverage for physician services.

In general, Medicare is primary to a Non-Active group health plan unless you are covered under another group health plan for active employees (your spouse is working and you are currently covered under their policy); in that case, the active policy is primary, Medicare is secondary, and WCAA policy would be tertiary.

If you or any covered members of your family are Medicare eligible, you are required to provide Wayne County Airport Authority with Medicare information in order to allow for coordination of benefits with Medicare.  For further information regarding Medicare coordination, please contact [email protected].

Medicare Benefit Info, generally available at age 65, is provided by the Federal Government. To apply for benefits you need to be at least 64 years and 9 months old. An application can be submitted through www.ssa.gov
