DETROIT (Nov. 2, 2021) – The Wayne County Airport Authority (WCAA) realizes small businesses are at the heart of Southeast Michigan’s economy and WCAA wants to help them thrive. On Wednesday, November 10 at 10 a.m., WCAA will host a virtual Small Business Enterprise (SBE) Symposium. Participants can learn about contract opportunities at Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW) and discover how to be certified as an SBE. WCAA manages and operates DTW and Willow Run Airport.

“Each year, Detroit Metropolitan Airport has a $10.2 billion economic impact,” said Wayne County Airport Authority CEO Chad Newton. “Through our SBE program, we strive to expand our impact by helping local small businesses secure non-federally funded contracts with the Airport Authority, especially at DTW. We know when small businesses succeed, our region succeeds.”

Business leaders may register for the symposium by visiting dtwisopenforsmallbusiness.rsvpify.com. After registering, participants will receive a Zoom link. Space is limited to the first 100 people. Information about SBE certification is available on the WCAA website at https://bit.ly/3vSf0Vj.
