Parking System Testing Underway in McNamara Garage

Parking at DTW will soon become easier. DTW will unveil a parking guidance system in the McNamara Terminal Garage later this year. But first, the system must undergo testing. 

With this new technology, colored lights above parking spaces help customers identify available spots. A green light indicates an open space, while a red light indicates an occupied space. During testing, the lights may not be accurate; parking availability displays and directional arrows will not be operational.

Once testing is complete, customers entering the garage will be able to view real-time parking availability by level, aisle and individual space. After work is completed in the McNamara Terminal Parking Garage, the system will be installed in the Big Blue Deck.
