Traveling with Pets

Your four-legged family members are our VIP guests! If you're planning to take your pet along for the trip, be sure to check with your airline in advance to be sure pets are welcome aboard your flight and that you have the proper crate to ensure your furry friend is safe and comfortable throughout his or her journey.

While pets packed for travel are always welcome at Detroit Metro Airport (DTW), please note that all other animals (except for service animals) are asked to stay at home or in the car when their owners are headed to the airport. Pets are not allowed outside their traveling crates inside the airport terminal, and violation of this rule may be subject to a fine.

If your pet needs to stretch his legs (and perhaps her owner does, too), we welcome the whole family to make use of our dedicated Service Animal Relief Areas.
