Wi-Fi internet access is available at Detroit Metro Airport. Travelers in the
McNamara or Smith Terminals with Wi-fi enabled laptops, PDAs and smartphones can surf the web, send email, even log on
safely to corporate intranet sites. Users can choose between two wi-fi rate programs: "Boingo AS YOU GO" service costs $7.95 and provides wi-fi access for a 24-hour period. Customers may also choose "Boingo Unlimited" service which provides unlimited Boingo wi-fi service and costs $21.95 per month.
Both Boingo plans, provide the user with wi-fi access, not just at Detroit Metro Airport, but at all of Boingo's more than 45,000 HOTSPOTS around the globe, including many other airports, hotels, retail and restaurant venues.
Travelers without Wi-Fi compatible devices can still plug into dataports available at every airport public telephone, and at the airport's Online Cafe located at the McNamara Terminal.
The airport's Wi-Fi provider is Concourse Communications Group, L.L.C. In addition to the Boingo service mentioned above, Concourse also has roaming agreements
with other wireless Internet service providers (WISPs) including: AT&T wireless, Concourse, Go Remote, iBAHN, IPass, Orange France, Sprint, T-Mobile and WeRoam. Users with subscriptions to any of these WISPs can use the airport's hotspot, for no additional charge, as a part of their subscription.
