Motorists picking-up arriving passengers at Detroit Metro Airport’s Smith Terminal now have a new, expanded cell phone waiting area. The new, 37-space lot replaces the current waiting area along the curb of Rogell Drive, since that roadway will soon be completely re-routed to accommodate ongoing construction of the new North Terminal.
Many of you have told us that our cell phone waiting areas have been a welcome alternative to circling around and around airport roadways while waiting for an arriving passenger. The cell lots also reduce congestion at the curb front, making it easier to load your arriving party when they do come out to the curb with their luggage.
This new lot is not only larger, but its new location makes it a convenient waiting area for motorists approaching the airport from I-94 who are meeting arriving passengers at any of the airport’s three terminals. Both
