A study recently conducted by the University of Michigan-Dearborn measures the economic activity stimulated by Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW).
Activity at the airport is responsible for a statewide economic impact of $7.6 billion and generates 71,695 jobs.
In Wayne County, the economic impact of the airport includes more than $5 billion in spending for goods and services annually, over $1 billion in annual incomes to county residents and more than 30,000 jobs.
You can conclude that capital projects at the airport pay for themselves many times over in terms of generating income for our citizens and prosperity for our communities.
