The Wayne County Airport Authority mourns the passing of Edward McNamara yesterday, one of the finest public officials in the history of the State of Michigan. He was a person of fine character, wonderful wit and true determination to serve the citizens of Wayne County.
Not only have the residents of Wayne County benefited from Mr. McNamara's vision for Detroit Metro Airport, with the convenience of an efficient airport system, the thousands of jobs directly connected to the airport and the economic development potential of DTW, but so too have the over 35 million passengers that pass through the airport's terminals each year.
