Do you remember that it was a little bit inconvenient for a couple of weeks last summer to get from Rogell Drive to Goddard Road Ext. on the north end of DTW? That's because the Authority needed to repave the ramps leading to and from Rogell Drive. Now customers in the large rental car shuttle busses have a much smoother ride. On Thursday, February 16, the Airport Authority, as well as the engineering company and contractor won an Award of Excellence from the Michigan Concrete Paving Association for this project. Due to cost, the project called for the replacement of pavement only, but value engineering allowed for the replacement of the curb and gutter as well, at no additional cost. The award states, "The end product is a showcase for craftsmanship and a value for motorists who are treated to a smooth durable ride." Good work everybody!
