With the new McNamara Terminal and more than $2 billion in recent airport improvements now complete, the Wayne County Airport Authority is moving forward with the next round of improvements at Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW).
The North Terminal Redevelopment (NTR) Project is 26-gate terminal complex built to replace the airport’s older Berry & Smith terminal complex.
The new North Terminal complex will be used to accommodate DTW’s airlines that formerly operated out of the L.C. Smith and Berry Terminals. The new terminal has a Federal Inspection Station (FIS)
to accommodate international flights. A three level Ground Transportation Center has been constructed adjacent to the blue deck to accommodate all commercial vehicle loading & unloading.
The new North Terminal complex is a critical link in DTW’s efforts to maximize both the efficiency of the airport and its economic value to the community. The project will modernize the entire airport terminal complex and create a world-class facility that provides the type of services all our passengers and visitors deserve. |
