One of the most
significant and challenging issues facing airports is the effect of aircraft noise. To address this issue, the Wayne County
Airport Authority conducted what is referred to as a Part 150 Noise Compatibility Study. The result of this study was the Noise
Compatibility Plan (NCP), which is comprised of a series of programs and initiatives aimed at mitigating the effects of aircraft
noise.
The Residential Sound Insulation Program (RSIP) is an initiative that was derived from the NCP. By
partnering with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the Wayne County Airport Authority can provide qualified homeowners with the
benefits of sound insulation treatments free of charge. The Program is for residents in the highest noise-impacted areas surrounding the
Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport. This Web site is designed to provide information about the RSIP Program.
The information on this web page is organized into two sections, Homeowners and
Contractors. The Homeowner section provides information about program eligibility and participation. The
Contractor section provides information for contractors who are interested in business opportunities in the program. |
