For information on obtaining a passport, or for more information on international travel, please visit www.travel.state.gov.
What items are prohibited beyond the security checkpoint and in carry-on bags?
Cutting instruments
of every kind including carpet knives, straight razors, elongated scissors,
box cutters and other folding or retractable blades, regardless of blade
length or composition, are not allowed beyond the security checkpoints.
Also prohibited are ice picks, and items of a dangerous and/or explosive
nature, or anything that could cause bodily harm. Such items will be
confiscated at the checkpoint. For more specific information regarding
airport security, see www.tsa.gov
How many carry-on items are passengers permitted to take through the passenger-screening checkpoint?

to one carry-on item along with one personal item, such as a purse,
briefcase or laptop. Check with your airline for specific security and
baggage requirements.
How
far in advance should I arrive at the airport for my departing flight?
The airlines recommend
that travelers arrive at least two hours prior to a domestic departure
and three hours prior to an international departure.
How do I apply for airport ID badges for my employees?
Individuals who require unescorted access to the Air Operations Area (AOA), or restricted secured areas must possess a DTW photo ID badge. A completed and appropriately signed Airport ID Badge application must be submitted to the Credentials Office on the 3rd floor of the L.C. Smith Terminal for processing.
